Primula Florindae ‘Ray’s Ruby’

code: 653
one spectacular plant shone out from all the rest with large

Family: Primulaceae
Plant Classification: Hardy perennial
Minimum Height: 60 cm
Maximum Height: 90 cm

Several years ago, amongst a large bed of mostly yellow or orange seedlings, one spectacular plant shone out from all the rest with large, deepest blood red bells on strong stems. The valuable seed from this plant was sown and generations later we released what we believe is the first true-seeding, glowing red form of this spectacular plant. Ruby-red flowers on long, strong stems open in their full glory in May, June, and July and later. A lovely easy-to-grow plant for a moist place in the garden although it will do well in the dry but will be smaller!

Sowing advice:
SOW FINELY & EVENLY. COVER THINLY WITH COMPOST OR GRIT. KEEP MOIST IN WARM, COVERED, LIGHT SPOT OUTSIDE. GROW ON INDIVIDUAL SEEDLINGS IN 3″ POTS. PLANT OUT IN DEEP, ENRICHED SOIL FOR BEST RESULTS.

Plant Habit:Herb/Forb
Life cycle:Perennial
