this plant will perform trouble-free for many years

Family: Scrophulariaceae
Plant Classification: Hardy perennial
Minimum Height: 1.2 meters
Maximum Height: 1.8 meters

This impressive foxglove is amongst the tallest we have ever seen. Several long thin spires arise, clad along most of their length with large-lipped, dark-veined orange flowers. Soundly perennial and bone hardy, this plant will perform trouble-free for many years.

Sowing advice:
For best results, sow seeds immediately onto a good soil-based compost. Cover the seeds with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. They can be sown at any time, and germination can sometimes be quicker if kept at 15 to 20 degrees C. However, we sow most seeds in an unheated greenhouse and wait for natural germination as many seeds have built-in dormancy mechanisms, and often wait for spring before emerging regardless of when they are sown. But spring sowing will obviously give them a full season of growth if successful germination occurs.

Tips:
Soil: Rich, Well Drained.
Frost: Hardy

Beware: All parts of any foxglove are toxic to humans and other mammals.
Care: Deadhead central flower spikes after three-fourths of it has faded to encourage more flowers.
Deer & Rabbit resistant: Toxic; deer and rabbits should be to smart to have a nibble.
Origin: Digitalis ferruginea hybrid, which is native to Hungary, Romania, Turkey and the Caucasus.
