A really easy-to-grow annual
Family: Campanulaceae
Plant Classification: Half hardy annual
Minimum Height: 7 cm
Maximum Height: 10 cm
Probably the most popular of all bedding lobelias, with dainty, deep blue flowers smothering neat globes of foliage that form very dwarf, compact plants. It makes a sparkling addition to beds, containers, and window-boxes, and even looks well placed in the rockery. A really easy-to-grow annual that is deservedly popular for its versatility and long flowering period.
Sowing advice:
For best results, seeds are sown directly into the ground where required in the spring. Alternatively, sow in late winter/early spring in gentle warmth, 15-20 degrees C. Prick out into small 3″ pots and plant in final position when the plants are established.
